PNG RUGBY UNION

Known locally as the 'Pukpuks, (Crocodiles), the New Guinea National Rugby Union team made their international debut in 1996, defeating neighbouring New Hebrides 47-3.

Since then the 'Pukpuks' have participated in the Oceania World Cup qualifying tournaments for the 2007 and 2011 World Cups without success though they did thrash Vanuatu 86-12 and Cook Islands 29-12 in the 2009 Oceania Nations Cup.
