altFollowing on from the NRL’s highly publicised All Stars ticket release KooGa has announced that the public will see exciting new jersey designs for the second All Star’s match scheduled for 12th February 2011. Next years event will see both teams again share a common performance-enhancing edge as they take to the field wearing playing kits designed and manufactured by renowned Gold Coast based and 100% Australian sports apparel company KooGa .

“We’re excited to be part of the second NRL All Stars event…the boys will look great in their new playing kit and we’re keen to see them on the field to battle it out…” said KooGa Managing Director Tyron Brant. “These guys made history with the first game in February this year and KooGa being an Australian company are very proud to be part of that history”.

KooGa had record breaking sales with the first All Stars game this year with unexpected requests for the supporter’s jerseys, particularly the Indigenous version. In less than two months KooGa sold more than 10,000 jerseys and their shelves were emptied. The demand for the supporters range by far exceeded the expectations of all involved and topped the sales charts in KooGa’s history books, even beating past sales figures of premiership teams.

Demand for jerseys for the 2011 game are expected to again be outstanding with many sales likely to come from Regional Australia as they did in 2010.alt

With the amount of success generated from the history making first game the new look KooGa jerseys are set to be equally if not more impressive than the originals.

KooGa has once again worked Indigenous artist (former Broncos and Panthers forward); Sid Domic to create the 2011 jersey designs.

The blue colour way represented in last year’s event logo has now been incorporated into the NRL All Stars team jersey. The designs have been refined and the NRL All Stars version includes a new element by introducing a sleeve tattoo that will represent each player’s individual club.

Sid Domic has been an integral part of the NRL All Stars and Indigenous jersey designs with KooGa. Punters will see exciting changes to the jersey this year with the hand prints of respected & famous Indigenous rugby players and a metallic element embedded into the cultural design. Proud Indigenous representatives such as Preston Campbell, Lionel Morgan and Arthur Henry "Artie" Beetson all contributed their hands to the design process.  The new look jersey will also see some of the traditional dot painting areas become solid blocks to allow fans to get their merchandise signed by their heroes if they are lucky enough to.

Artist Sid Domic said he enjoyed being part of the design process with KooGa, “It’s been a huge honour to be involved. The exciting part of the jersey design for me was adding the intricate hand print element and the meaning behind it.”

Sid explained how he was “proud to work with KooGa, Preston, Uncle Lionel and Artie, it really took the design to a new level. These guys have really helped develop rugby league and inspire our youth”. Artwork by Sid Domic.

The NRL All Stars, NRL Indigenous All Stars jerseys and supporter ranges will be available on line and at major Australian sports retailers as early as mid November  2010.
